SILFRA is the culmination of a two-year-long exploratory improvisation project by Hilary Hahn, the Grammy®-winning American violinist, and Volker Bertelmann, the German master of prepared piano known as Hauschka. The music on this ambitious and free-spirited collection is a tribute to the Silfra rift in Iceland, an otherworldly landscape that inspired the two musicians to create a body of work that is evocative, hypnotic and truly breathtaking.
