Alexander Baillie's complete recording of the Britten Cello Suites and Sonata was first issued on a double LP set [r4252288], on two separate CDs [r7096919] and [r10973907], and on two separate cassettes. The present release is Vol. 2 of the cassette issue, and pairs the Third Suite for Cello Op. 87 with the Sonata in C for Cello and Piano Op. 65. The cassette cover, like the related LP and CD covers, notes that Baillie's is the "First Complete Recording" of the works. While the cover carries the words "Notes Enclosed", the one note printed on its reverse is in French, and a larger folded insert may have been lost. ℗ 1985 Direct Metal Mastering Chromium Dioxide tape.
