"Strictly Biz" is the seventh album produced by the UNLV Jazz Ensemble and the significance to the title represents the attitude the Band had to establish when recording this album, It costs so much to produce a recording these days, the Band could not afford to spend many hours in the studio, therefore, in order to hold down costs, the Band had to have a "strictly business" approach in performing for the taping. That it did. The first side was recorded in three and a half hours from 1:00 a.m. to 4:30 a.m., and the second side was recorded in three hours the following night. With about five hours of mixing, the album was ready to be pressed. It was recorded in the new UNLV Recording studio under the supervision of Curt Miller.
