Yantra is a re-release of Music of India ©1983, Produced by Bob Haddad ©1985 Music of the World
Dhun/Rag-Mala - A brief folk melody acts as the springboard for improvisation in several ragas. Each exploration in a new rga is followed by a restatement of the theme. The rhythm cycle is kaharawa.
Rag Chandrakauns - A classical rendition of a very popular late night raga, set to teental rhythm.
Rag Lalit - A brief alap (solo flute). This raga is associated with the pre-dawn hours and has a mysterious and contemplative quality.
Rag Bhairagi - A short but thorough development of a pentatonic early morning raga related to the Bhairav group. The form is alap, mayda teental (medium speed), and drut teental (fast.)
Rag Bhairavi - This is the most popilar North Indian raga, traditionally played to close a concert. The composition theme is adapted from a melody played by the late Pannalal Ghosh, the flutist who first introduced the bansari flute as a classical music instrument.
