Recorded on March 9, 1958. Note: Added to this classic session is a tune that remained unissued until 1982 when it was first issued in Japan. The piece was written by Adderley's brother Nat. Although it didn't have a title at the time, Nat's daughter Allison was born on the date of the recording session, while her uncle Cannon was playing the tune. So the title later became "Allison's Uncle" (M. Cuscuna) [sic, see below] Erroneously titled and credited to Cannonball Adderley on this release, Allison's Uncle is actually Bangoon, a Hank Jones composition.
