DOTS - Dust On The Stylus

“Dust On The Sylus” is the debut full length album from DOTS aka Eargasmic Recordings co-founder Akila Figueroa. The album was written, produced and arranged during a two week period of intense creativity in the Summer of 2018, and was was mixed by Eargasmic Recordings label head Daryl Cura and mastered by Emphasis Recordings label head Steven Tang. Unlike his previous four to the floor House and Techno releases under the names Isoke and DOTS respectively, D.O.T.S. is an album of free spirited pop experimentation and a more psychedelectronic sound, and hidden behind the obvious occult and conspiracy theory themed song titles is an album about love, loss and new beginnings. What started off as a joke of sorts ended up becoming much more personal as the songs became more realized. Overcome with grief from the death of his sister and his best friend, who both past away within a year of another, as well as the death of his girlfriend who had past away a few years prior, DOTS transformed his sorrow into something truly positive, while also venturing into new musical territory along the way as his journey toward healing unfolded.
