From the liner notes for music out of the moon (side 1):
"Harry Revel created the basic "idea" and themes while Leslie Baxter, conductor and arranger, has given them appropriately unique tone color, using mass harmonies of human voices as well as unusual instrumental effects with woodwinds, strings and bass; some without rhythm, others with a dominant, demanding beat"
Each side was originally issued as a 3x10" 78 RPM record set and also on 10" LP, both with same liner notes.
Reissued in 1999 as part of a 3xCD set (Basta, 30-9093-2).
The runouts on this release are stamped except the "#" sign that is hand etched on side A. Pressed by [l313266] (star stamp in A-side runout) using metal from [l313252] ("anvil" logo stamp in B-side) with sideways "1" on B-side that corresponds with many runout stamps for pressings from Capitol L.A.
First catalog number on cover, second on labels.
