Grooves play from the inside to the outside of the disc with a locked groove to keep the needle from going from one song to the next (like an album). Position numbers in the track list are listed from inside to outside. The songs here were recorded in 1934-1935, at the same time they had just been signed to new Decca Records label. The band was Leonard Slye, Bob Nolan, and Tim Spencer on vocals. These recordings were not available to the public on records. By 1937 Leonard was offered a role in films for Republic Pictures and he had to leave the group. He did so, and also changed his performing name to Roy Rogers. This is part of a set of records sold to radio station for them to create their own Sons Of The Pioneers program. Although they appear to be albums, they should be played with a 78rpm stylus for best results. They are pressed on a quiet vinyl rather than shellac as most other records of the 1930s.
