"[Canadian legend, PJ Perry returns to the studio and churns out another thoughtful but hard swinging recording on his latest album, No Hugs, featuring eight brand new compositions written with another Canadian icon, Neil Swainson. Joining Perry is an all-star band made up of long time friends and contemporaries: Bob Tildesley-trumpet, Chris Andrew-piano, Paul Johnston-bass and Dave Laing-drums. Perry mentions in the album notes: 'One of the most difficult aspects of the Covid lockdown was not being able to snuggle in "the big, brown chair" reading stories to my grandson, Atticus. Hence the tune and album title 'No Hugs'. On the other hand the pandemic provided an opportunity to write a bunch of new music albeit under the most unusual circumstances proving to be very rewarding.
