Note: "Although [John Becker] completed his ink manuscript of Symphonia Brevis on December 24, 1929, the composer later (probably around 1933) made extensive pencil entries into his master photostat copy of the manuscript ... in effect a "revised version" of the work. ... The present performance utilizes a new set of materials prepared from the composer's manuscripts by Don Gillespie and Ann Mathews in the Summer of 1971 and in all probability reflects the composer's last thoughts on the subject."
Schuman's Prayer in Time of War was composed in 1943.
Labunski's Canto is a revision of the Second Movement of the Second Symphony (1953) and was first performed in this new version in 1963.
