Harmonia Mundi 3 LP black box set, recorded 1970 & here reissued, that visually differs from [r=17167732]. Compilation of three separated previous releases, HM (or DR) 211 + HM (or DR) 212 + HM (or DR) 213.
This set catalogue number HM 211/13 is printed on the box and booklet.
Catalogue numbers printed on the three records are respectively =
- HM 211 (℗ 1977, made in West Germany),
- HM 212 (℗ 1968, made in West Germany), &
- DR 213 (Deller Recordings, Deller Consort de Londres, undated).
All the rim texts are printed in French.
Spine says: "Byrd / Messes / Motets / Deller Consort / Harmonia Mundi / HM 211/13".
Each vinyl is housed under poly-doubled, die-cut, white papered inner sleeve.
Thick rigid cardboard box also contains a 12" thick souple white foam sheet, for protection.
Harmonia Mundi France logo is printed on box, discs labels 1 and 2, plus booklet, Harmonia Mundi logotype being printed inline only on third record labels.
Features 12 page booklet (stapled) with typed notes in French and English, listing the whole English Music catalogue from [a844443] on back.
There is also a two LP box set featuring only the Masses, without the Motets: see [r=11774631].
Second record is featured on The Absolute Sound [TAS] famous list of recommended audiophile 'Special Merit: Classical' releases as "Byrd: Mass for Four Voice and Motets. Harmonia Mundi HM 55212".
