A remote collaborative project. Three of the pieces were recorded at the same time on three consecutive "Mondays/ Tuesdays" wherever we were— Zhu Wenbo in Beijing recorded Tuesday mornings and Noah Ophoven-Baldwin in Minneapolis recorded Monday evenings. Five of the pieces are combined solos that were composed for each other. Noah’s piece Wooden Beams is a notated solo piece for Zhu that can be played on any instrument. Zhu wrote five solo text scores for Noah. The final piece is a solo cornet piece that is a transcription of Zhu playing a mystery instrument. All things were finished in 2023, but some slight reworks were added and remove in 2024.
