On the A-side, The Blackbyrds' 'Mysterious Vibes' is reimagined with a patient touch that extends the smoky jazz-funk groove without losing the magic that made it a favourite among producers. The flip turns to Tom Brock's soul masterpiece and draws out the emotion and grandeur of a track whose influence stretches from rare-groove circles to classic hip-hop. Rather than reinventing the source material, these dubs highlight what made both records special in the first place - timeless grooves, rich atmosphere and serious sampling pedigree.
