Some liner notes in the booklet provide clues (but no definitive credits) about who played on this album with Steve Cropper: "Along with being the in-house guitarist and sometimes engineer/producer for Stax, Steve also enjoyed acclaim and respect from his banding with the rest of the house session players: Duck Dunn - bass, Al Jackson - drums, and Booker T. Jones on keyboards, to form Booker T. & The M.G.s. "'With A Little Help From My Friends' meant that Steve could count on his fellow M.G.s as well as Leon Russell, Buddy Miles and The Memphis Horns to help him out on his first solo recording. Here Steve is found applying his trademark 'Tele' sound to instrumental versions of r&b/soul hits, many of which he arranged and played on in their original release."
