"The Woman", "The Place", and "The Drink" are based on the Norwegian folk songs "Gullbor Og Rideboll", "Tveitäen" and "Me Skal Bryggja Til Jul".
"If You Look" and "Far Enough" were recorded in spring, 1988 for "Blücher", a Norwegian film. The orchestral sound is made by connecting the bass pickup to a delay and a reverb. There are no synthesizers or studio overdubs. "The Voice" was recorded with a zoom processor added to the effect loop.
