AV 37 Completed in Munich on 20th December 1877 (as "op.15"); the 3rd movement (Tempo de Menuetto) is not in the manuscript and was evidently added after the first performances of the original three-movement work (i.e. some time in 1878) Dedicated to the composer's dear uncle, the public prosecutor Anton von Knötzinger First performed in Munich (at the home of the dedicatee) at New Year 1878 Romance for Clarinet and Orchestra without opus no. AV 61 (for Clarinet and Piano) Completed in Munic on 25th June 1879 (as "op.27") Dedicated to ? First performed in Munic (at the Ludwigsgymnasium) in the summer of 1879 at the end-of-term concert given by the school orchestra, with one of the composer's classmates as soloist Romance for Cello and Orchestra or Piano without opus no. AV 75 (I) Note: While working on the orchestral version of the Romance, Strauss wrote two very different versions for piano accompaniment: the shorter, AV 75 (II), is quite unlike the orchestral version, whereas the longer one, AV 75 (I), is a more faithful transcription.
