The performers, all of whom are multi-instrumentalsts, draw upon a number of unusual techniques such as multiphonics, harmonic singing, and hand drumming styles from India, Brazil and the Middle East. These are combined with new music resources including the Fairlight Computer Music Instrument, a digital computer synthesizer with an infinite capacity for processing acoustic and natural sounds.
This re-issue feature the same cover as the original release, but there is a little sticker on the spine "MUSIC OF THE WORLD H-302" covering the original order number H-102.
The cassette features similar artwork than on the original release, but the "MW" logo is changed for a "MUSIC OF THE WORLD" logo, full address and musicians names. Plus it is not stickered but rather tampon printed upon the black cassette itself.
